OIL CATCH CANS, MARYBOROUGH

PROTECT YOUR DIESEL ENGINE FROM OIL MIST.

Modern common-rail diesel engines recirculate blow-by gases through the intake. Without a catch can, that oil mist coats your inlet manifold and valves, causing carbon buildup, reduced performance, and expensive repairs.

PROTECT YOUR DIESEL ENGINE FROM OIL MIST.

Modern common-rail diesel engines route crankcase blow-by vapours back through the intake system. These vapours carry tiny oil droplets that coat the inlet manifold, intercooler, EGR valve, and intake valves with a sticky residue. Over time it bakes into carbon deposits, restricting airflow, reducing performance, and causing expensive component failures.

A quality oil catch can intercepts these vapours, collects the oil, and lets clean air enter the intake. The Provent 200 separates approximately 98% of contaminants and includes an integrated safety valve to guard against irregular crankcase pressure. We supply and install catch cans suited to your specific vehicle.

WHY FIT AN OIL CATCH CAN

Protects the Intake System

Intercoolers, inlet manifolds, and EGR valves fouled with oil perform poorly and fail prematurely. A catch can removes the oil before it gets there.

Prevents Carbon Buildup

Oil mist is the ingredient that makes carbon deposits stick. Remove it and the buildup rate drops dramatically, complementing regular carbon cleaning.

Low Cost, High Protection

An oil catch can is one of the most cost-effective protective modifications for a modern diesel. The cost is a fraction of replacing an intercooler or inlet manifold.

Works With Diesel Pre-Filters

We also install diesel pre-filter kits that protect fuel injectors from water and contamination, particularly important for 4x4s used off-road or in areas with variable fuel quality.

HOW IT WORKS

1

Contact Us

Tell us your vehicle make and model. We'll confirm the right catch can kit and fitting hardware.

2

Installation

We fit the catch can, route plumbing correctly, and verify there are no leaks or crankcase pressure issues.

3

Ongoing Maintenance

The Provent 200 is fully serviceable. We include it in your routine service schedule: check level, empty, and replace filter as needed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does my diesel need an oil catch can?

Any modern diesel with EGR and a closed crankcase ventilation system benefits from one. This includes virtually all diesel 4x4s, utes, and light commercial vehicles from the early 2000s onwards.

What is the Provent 200?

The Provent 200 is a high-quality oil mist separator made by Mann+Hummel. It separates approximately 98% of oil contaminants from crankcase vapours and includes an integrated safety valve. It's one of the most effective catch cans available for diesel applications.

Will a catch can void my warranty?

Under Australian consumer law, fitting a catch can should not void your warranty provided it is installed correctly and doesn't cause damage. We install to manufacturer recommendations and use quality components.

How often does the catch can need servicing?

We include catch can inspection and emptying as part of your routine service. The Provent 200 filter should be replaced annually or at manufacturer-specified intervals.

Can I fit a catch can myself?

The physical fitting is straightforward, but incorrect plumbing can cause crankcase pressure issues. We recommend professional installation to ensure correct routing and sealing.
